Terms of Use

The simple terms

Last updated: July 6, 2026

By using thesteadyhandnewsletter.com or subscribing to the newsletter (together, the "Service"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

The letter

The Steady Hand is a personal newsletter written by Cherith. Subscribing is free. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email or on our unsubscribe page.

Not professional advice

The Steady Hand shares one caregiver's experience and links to outside resources. It is not medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or professional advice, and it is not a substitute for talking to a qualified professional. Please see our full disclaimer.

Content and copyright

The letters, essays, images, and site content are © The Steady Hand. You're warmly invited to forward emails to anyone who needs them and to share links to individual issues. Please don't republish full issues on other sites, in books, or in commercial products without asking first — email cherith@thesteadyhandnewsletter.com.

Acceptable use

Please don't:

  • Subscribe someone else without their permission.
  • Try to break, scrape, or overload the site.
  • Use the Service to send spam, harassment, or unlawful content.

Third-party links

The letter and site occasionally link to outside organizations (like the Eldercare Locator or Family Caregiver Alliance). We verify these before each issue, but we don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, services, or policies.

No warranties

The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do our best to keep it accurate, reliable, and available, but we can't guarantee it.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, The Steady Hand and Cherith will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the Service.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Meaningful changes will be mentioned in an upcoming letter, and the "Last updated" date above will change.
